What’s the deal with handmade soap? Is it worth it?

Why should you buy handmade and handcrafted soap? Well, it's better - but why? Each one of our handcrafted soaps has a different formula - so it's not just the pretty colors and scents to look out for. Each formula is created so each bar is a new experience. Do you recognize the ingredients in your bar soap that you purchased at the store?

Let’s pull a quick comparison - after a quick search for “What soap bar is best?” I stumbled upon an article that said that a brand that rhythms with Love is the best - but did you know that isn’t even soap? It’s a “Beauty Bar” but let’s do our comparison.

Here are the ingredients, as a soap maker I recognize more ingredients than you might - but take a quick look below and see how many you know what they are / what they do.

Ingredients/Ingrédients: Sodium Lauroyl Isethionate, Stearic Acid, Lauric Acid, Sodium Oleate, Water (Eau), Sodium Isethionate, Sodium Stearate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Glycerin, Sodium Laurate, Tetrasodium Etidronate, Tetrasodium EDTA, Sodium Chloride, Kaolin or (ou) Titanium Dioxide.

Now let’s take a look at one of our soaps, our Fresh Coffee soap is made out of the following:

Ingredients: Coconut Oil, Olive Oil, Brewed Coffee, Sodium Hydroxide, Cocoa Butter, Avocado Oil, Grapeseed Oil, Coffee Grounds, Castor Oil, Fragrance, Skin Safe Mica

Our soaps are made with ingredients you are familiar with and can pronounce!

But … why does it make it better? Our soaps are made with less chemicals than your average bar purchased at the store. With less chemicals - the soap is more pure and it gets right down to each ingredient and why they are good in the soap. Besides the absolutely incredible scent of the Fresh Coffee soap - it has tons of great oils that make up a fantastic bar of soap. Here is a description of some of the oils and why they are good in this soap.

Coconut Oil: provides cleansing to the bar to rinse away dirt and bacteria

Cocoa Butter: provides moisturizing to the bar, it also enhances how “hard” the bar is which means it will last longer

Avocado Oil: provides conditioning to the soap plus has a ton of great vitamins like vitamins A, B, D, and E

Grapeseed Oil: provides moisture and helps even out skin tone

Castor Oil: provides extra lather to the bar which makes it bubbly and creamy

Coffee Grounds and Brewed Coffee: Coffee grounds act as a gentle exfoliate in this bar and the brewed coffee helps stimulate blood flow

With being able to customize every handcrafted soap we can provide bars for people who are allergic to coconut oil, are vegan, are gluten free, etc. Each bar can be customizable because one bar does not fit all needs for everyone.
